By the age of eleven, I had almost entirely stopped interacting with my father at home, communicating only when it was strictly required. He managed life’s stresses with such visible agitation and lack of patience that our household felt turbulent rather than secure. The memory I held onto was of “little Carol” crouched on the floor of her room, seeking refuge from his presence. This mental image was incredibly sharp, bringing back a flood of tense emotions every time I recalled it.
When Elaine proposed that we invite Jesus into that specific, painful memory, I wasn't sure what to anticipate. After a brief period of waiting, I sensed Him there... Jesus was right there on the carpet beside me. Although there was no physical figure to look at, His presence was unmistakable—a calm, supportive connection that reassured my younger self of her worth and safety. Suddenly, the long-held feelings of anxiety and terror evaporated, replaced by a profound peace and the realization that I was cherished by Him.
I feel so thankful that our Father in Heaven provided this chance for me to find healing through the remarkable prayer work of John and Elaine Busch. It was the first time I truly grasped the strength of God’s active love and His vow to never abandon His children. I am so blessed by their guidance.
